Lightjet and Giclee Print Setup Specifications:
We welcome the work of customers who are producing their own digital files, and who are familiar with working in a color-calibrated environment. But in order to qualify for our Preferred / Reprint pricing, the following requirements must be met:
- Files should be scanned and/or created within a proven ICC-managed color workflow. We maintain a color-calibrated environment and tight Lightjet linearization tolerances, but Image Renaissance is not responsible for color-management on customer produced files. The success of your print job will depend entirely on the quality of your input files. We urge customers to run control or proof prints to verify color calibration.
- Files must be saved as flattened and uncompressed RGB tiff (8-bits per channel). Please make sure you embed your color profile. We will apply the final output device profile.
- Minimum resolution of 200 ppi at final output size is recommended. Maximum resolution for Lightjet is 304.8 ppi (res 12). In fact, the LightJet always images at res 12, so lower resolution files are interpolated to res 12 by the LightJet's hardware interpolater.
- Images with white borders must include borders as part of final image layout, and must incorporate a 2-pixel black stroke around area to be trimmed. If your image is not stroked, we will assume you want it trimmed to the image. Note that white borders are included in final image output dimensions. In other words, lay out your print file exactly as you want it printed.
- Files must be submitted on Mac or PC formatted CD-ROM or DVD-ROM media. We can accept most formats, so if you want to submit files some other way, talk to us and we'll see what we can do.
- Note that if your job meets the above requirements it will be printed regardless of its liklihood of "correct" output. You will be responsible for all charges incurred regardless of whether the completed prints turn out as you expected them to i.e. if you do your own setup and pre-flight, then you are responsible for the output.
With careful color control, you can produce beautiful Lightjet prints from your digital files. We'll do our best to help you be successful.
